How to Join

NEVT uses Skool as our primary communication platform. It’s where members share photos, take part in critiques and discussions, receive updates about meetings and outings, and stay connected between in-person events.

To join the group, visit our Skool page, NEVT Photography Community , and click the “Join Group” button. When requesting to join, please introduce yourself and include your connection to Vermont.

Skool is central to how the group functions, so members should be comfortable using it to communicate and participate.

(Note: You will need a basic (free) Skool account for that; you will be prompted to set this up when you join your first Skool community)

What Happens After You Join

Once your membership request is approved, please introduce yourself with a post in the Community → Members category on Skool. You may even include some photos of yours to show us your style of photography. This helps everyone get to know you and makes it easier to connect around shared interests.

Also, be sure to set your communication preferences so you stay up to date on new posts and discussions. And keep an eye on the community calendar for meetings, photo outings, and other events.

New Member Tips

  • Jump in early. Posting an introduction in Community → Members is the best way to get connected.
  • Ask questions. Curiosity is encouraged—about technique, gear, locations, or process.
  • Share work-in-progress. Critiques are thoughtful and supportive; finished masterpieces are not required.
  • Check the calendar. Meetings, photo outings, and exhibitions are posted on Skool.
  • Mind notifications. Adjust your Skool settings so you don’t miss conversations or opportunities to participate.
  • Community over promotion. We’re here to learn and share, not to market services or products.
